more so in Pune, Mumbai and New Delhi, With N95 masks in short supply, The oldest mode of medicine — Ayurveda has a cure for the much talked about swine flu. Still, There are few takers of the ayurveda and the homeopathy medicines even if it claims to provide hundred per cent treatment. Dr Bhagwan Singh, principal and superintendent of State Ayurvedic College, Lucknow, says, “The disease (swine flu) and its treatment is already mentioned in our old books of medicines by sages. On the basis of the symptoms of swine flu, it has been given the name `vatashlesmic’ fever in the ayurvedic medicine books.”
Also renowned yoga guru Baba Ramdev prescribed yoga as a cure for the disease. Baba Ramdev advised people to practice yoga as a preventive measure against swine flu.
What is ayurvedic medicine for swine flu?
Ayurvedic medicines like Sanjawini Vati and Tribhuvan Kriti Ras can be given for swine flu.
On the basis of symptoms like cough, cold, sore throat and fever, one cannot be considered as a patient of swine flu. So to be on the safer side, one could take a medicine named as Gurahi for the sake of prevention. Also have tea or hot water adding black tulsi leaves.

What is homeopathic medicine for swine flu?
Swine flu is an influenza like illness, where primary symptoms are very much similar to those of influenza. Thus one can take Influnzenium 200 as a preventive medicine. Reports `Alternative medicines can cure swine flu’
time tested methods to strengthen our immune system.
1. Herbal Tea – In 2 cups of water, boil 9 -10 washed tulsi leaves, 1
inch piece of ginger (grated), a piece of cinnamon (daalchini), 3-4
cloves (laung) – boil till reduces to 1 cup. Sieve it and add 1 spoonful of honey. Take it twice a day.
2. Immune system strengthening products – (any one)
Chyavanprash – 1 teasp twice a day
Celin (500 mg) – Vit C daily
Septilin (tablet or syrup for young children) – 2 twice a day (Ayurvedic)
Tab Arogyavardhini – 2 tablets twice a day (Ayurvedic)
Immunoforce – 15 drops in a glass of water twice a day
3. Other precautions –
Avoid going to closed places with no ventilation
Do surya namaskaar and pranayamas like anuloma viloma,
bhramari, om chanting in the open, facing the sun – if done early in the morning (before 7 – 7.30 am).
Avoid Kapaalbhati and Bhastrika if suffering from cold.
Swine Flu precautions at home!
A: Two things – soap and water can reduce the chance of infection by 30 per cent. All you need to do is keep washing your hand with soap and water frequently. Wash hands frequently with soap and water or use alcohol-based hand cleaner when soap and water are not available. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
Eat healthy: Proteins are essential to help your body maintain and build strength. Lean meat, poultry, fish, legumes, dairy, eggs, and nuts and seeds are good sources of protein.

Vitamin B6 is widely available in foods, including protein foods such as turkey and beans as well as potatoes, spinach, and enriched cereal grains. Proteins such as meats, milk, and fish also contain vitamin B12, a powerful immune booster.
Minerals such as selenium and zinc work to keep the immune system strong. These minerals are found in protein rich foods such as beans, nuts, meat, and poultry.
Exercise: Regular exercise may help prevent the flu. According to recent findings, when moderate exercise is repeated on a near daily basis, there is a cumulative immune-enhancing effect. That is, your strong immune system can fight flu better. When you exercise, your white blood cells — the blood cells that fight infections in the body — travel through your body more quickly, fighting bacteria and viruses (such as flu) more efficiently. To maintain good health, experts recommend at least 30 minutes of aerobic activity such as walking, swimming, biking, or running each day.
