Sungkyunkwan Scandal Episode 15

The whole incident with Jaeshin and Yoonhee is canceled, with Sunjoon’s help, and everyone suggests going somewhere to celebrate (that’s probably why they go to the creek later?).

Sunjoon decides to quit going to Sungkyunkwan to come out to marry Hyo-eun (I think he says he is gonna go live in the mountains or something o_o). Hyo-eun pretties herself saying she wants to be a good wife to Sunjoon while Sunjoon looks conflicted at the stuff her family’s sent over (Koreans usually send blankets, furnitures, etc as dowry).

Yoonhee is sneaking(?) around Sunjoon’s house and is found by Sunjoon, who tells her to leave. She’s walking back crying when Sunjoon runs to her and turns her around, and exclaims, “I like you, Kim Yoon Shik!”

Insoo complains about Sunjoon, who won’t come to see Hyo-eun when she’s sick. It seems like Hyo-eun fakes being sick because Sunjoon has canceled the marriage–she wonders what she did wrong and doesn’t believe that Sunjoon will abandon her like this.

Yoonhee mutters to herself that she must be being punished for deceiving the world when Jaeshin asks her what she is thinking about so seriously.

The students all go to the mountain to play at the creek? and fortunately enough Sunjoon is finding retreat at a cabin (after running away from his wedding?) nearby.

Sungkyunkwan Scandal Episode 16

Sunjoon is looking at Yoonhee who he’s just saved from the water. His eyes are wide and he is just saying “Kim Yoon Shik, you…you…”

Cuts to another scene where Sunjoon is telling Yoonhee, “how could I leave you like this… I can’t leave you.”

Jaeshin looks for Yoonhee to tell her it’s time to go back but he can’t find her.

Sunjoon waits outside while Yoonhee changes in his cabin, saying “I don’t know how you came to Sunkyunkwan, with a woman’s body… I can’t even imagine what you were thinking.”

Sunjoon suggests he sleep outside and Yoonhee sleep inside but Soondol doesn’t let him come out of the room. Soondol shouts through the door to Yoonhee that she should convince Sunjoon to go back to Sungkyunkwan and that he’ll lock the two up until they meet their resolve (thanks Soondol).

Sunjoon is flustered, and says “there’s only one blanket here…”

Sunjoon suggests Yoonhee stop going to Sungkyunkwan, but Yoonhee says that she’s not afraid and that she’s doing fine as a student. He tells her he can’t just watch when she’s putting her life in danger, but she replies that even if she quits she will have to earn money dressed up as a man anyway. She tells him she just wants to be happy with everything as it is now.

Some gisaengs tell Yoonhee that Chosun wants to leave the gisaeng house to be a proper woman for Yoonhee, and asks if Yoonhee will accept Chosun as “his” woman then.

There’s a writing contest where the prize is oranges (apparently oranges were really rare then) and Jaeshin’s father tells Jaeshin not to enter, as he’ll be found out as Hongbyukseo.

Yoonhee and Sunjoon are alone in there room and Sunjoon puts a pillow between them and tells her not to cross over (YOU DUMMY OHMYGOD), and she says that she wouldn’t cross over even if he asked her to (she is unaware of her sleeping habits).

Yoonhee tells Sunjoon that she’ll win the writing contest, so he won’t be able to tell her that she shouldn’t be here. Sunjoon asks Yoonhee, “wasn’t there something you were going to tell me back at the creek?”

Based on the best seller novels The Lives of SungKyunKwan Confucian Scholars 1&2 of Jung Eun Gweol, SungKyunKwan Scandal is a Chosun Dynasty youth story that deals with the love, friendship and passion of a quartet on SungKyunKwan college.

When her younger brother falls ill, Kim Yoon Hee enters the school in his place disguised as a boy in her desperation to find a way to support him, and becomes friends with Lee Sun Joon, a perfectionist who is also the brains of the gang, playboy Goo Yong Ha and the rebellious Moon Jae Shin.
